The Treasure
Warren “GRANDPA” Condray lived a full & exciting life until the age of 97. He always enjoyed spending his time with family and telling stories to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A life-long farmer & rancher in rural Kansas, "The Legend" defined hard work and farming innovation, as he was one of the first in North Central Kansas to terrace his fields and grow CRP grass! He was also very knowledgeable about the surrounding nature, as he was able to identify many different species of wildlife that he encountered, including birds simply by hearing their songs!
As I often like to say; Grandpa was a Ford truck drivin', ice cream lovin', tough as nails, world famous dinosaur hunter & cookie monster!
Other favorite stories also often told:
- having Native Americans on horseback visit the farm to ask for spare chickens...
- getting to know Dwight D. Eisenhower in high school...
- seeing a sasquatch leaning against a tree on the farm...
